How credits work
- Every seat includes 1,000 credits a month. A workspace of ten users receives 10,000. On an Enterprise plan, the allowance is agreed in your contract.
- One pool for the whole workspace. The allowance is counted per seat, but everyone spends from the same balance.
- Credits last one month. Unused credits do not carry over.
- You only pay for results. A lookup that finds nothing costs nothing.
What uses credits
- Enriching a profile costs the same whether you click Check for updates yourself or auto-updating profiles does it for you.
- A background automation run whose three actions all complete costs 3 credits. See automations.
- AI-filled attributes cost 1 credit per value, so a new record with three AI-filled columns costs 3 credits.
- A lookup that finds nothing.
- Interactive automations, Wait steps, and automation actions that are skipped or fail.
- Ask Spott, which has a fair usage cap instead. If you reach it, Spott tells you in the app.
- Everyday work such as sending email, logging calls, writing notes, and moving candidates through a pipeline.
When credits expire
Every credit is valid for one month from the day it is added, whether it comes from your monthly allowance, a monthly pack or a one-time purchase. Unspent credits then expire and are not refunded. When you hold credits from more than one source, Spott spends the ones that expire first.Credits added before 1 November 2026 keep their original twelve months. Because Spott
spends the credits that expire first, they are usually used after your monthly allowance.
Track your credits
Settings → Billing shows your available credits, what each action costs, and what the workspace spent over the last 7, 30 or 90 days, by type of action and by user. For a line-by-line record of every enrichment, open its History under Settings → Features. When you run out
Actions that use credits stop until credits are added, and everything else keeps working. Enrichment shows Insufficient balance, and an automation’s log shows Insufficient credits for each action it skipped. Your allowance refills on the first of the month, or an admin can buy more. If you see “Your monthly credit spend limit has been reached” instead, you have reached the personal limit an admin set for you, and only they can raise it.Buy more credits
Admins buy credits under Settings → Billing → Purchase Credits. Monthly Subscription adds a pack to the workspace pool every month, on top of your allowance. Packs cost the same on every plan:
One-Time Purchase buys a single block of credits for an unexpected spike, at the price
shown before you confirm.
Control what your team spends
- Cap each user’s monthly spend (Enterprise): set a monthly credit limit under Settings → Users.
- Decide who can enrich: switch off the Enrich People permission for roles that do not need it under Settings → Security.
- Cap auto-updates: set an auto-update spend limit.
- Switch features off under Settings → Features.
