Setup LinkedIn Browser Extension

  1. Install the Spott Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store and ensure it’s enabled in your browser
The Browser Extension is available in any Chromium-based web browser. This practically means it works on Chrome and Edge. It is available on the Chrome Web Store here.
  1. Open LinkedIn in Google Chrome and log in to your account.
  2. Navigate to any LinkedIn profile page.
  3. Click on the Spott extension icon in your Chrome toolbar on the top right. It should open up on the right hand side of the page.
  4. In the extension popup, click the Connect button to link your LinkedIn account
  5. Complete any consent prompts that appear. Click Sync. It may take a minute for the sync to complete.
  6. Go back to your browser and refresh your LinkedIn tab after connecting
  7. Go back to Spott and verify the connection is working by checking that the extension no longer shows a “Connect” button. You may need to refresh your Browser.

Troubleshooting If you’re experiencing connection issues, reconnect from the extension itself: refresh your LinkedIn tab, click the Spott extension icon, and click Connect again. If that does not help, uninstall and reinstall the extension. The connection process may take 2-3 minutes initially.

Use the LinkedIn Chrome Extension

Once connected, you can use the Chrome extension to:
  • Import candidate and contact profiles directly from LinkedIn pages
  • Import profiles from LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Recruiter (with the matching license)
  • Import any publicly visible job from the internet directly into Spott
  • Access Spott functionality while browsing, including notes, tasks, and updating a person’s status
You import one profile at a time. Saving a profile to a LinkedIn Recruiter project does not sync it into Spott: import is always a manual, per-profile click from the extension. The exception is an inbound application already linked to a job in Spott. Keep the extension updated to the latest version to see the newest functionality.
