# WhatsApp

> Sync WhatsApp conversations into Spott so candidate messages are stored in one place.

Sync your **WhatsApp conversations** into Spott so candidate messages are kept
alongside the rest of their history, instead of living only on your phone.

## Connect

Go to **Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp** and follow the steps to link your
WhatsApp account. Once connected, your conversations with people in your Spott
database sync automatically and appear on their profiles and in the
[Inbox](/docs/inbox/inbox).

## Privacy

Your WhatsApp conversations are visible **only to you**, the user who connected the
account. Unlike email, where each user chooses how much to share with the team,
WhatsApp messages are never visible to other workspace members.

## Staying connected

WhatsApp periodically requires you to re-establish the link to Spott, much like other
services occasionally ask you to sign in again. This is a standard WhatsApp security
measure. When it happens, reconnect from **Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp**: Spott
then syncs the conversations from the disconnected period, so no messages are lost.

## Troubleshooting

If your settings show WhatsApp as connected but messages stop appearing on candidate
profiles, or messages only flow in one direction, **disconnect and reconnect** the
integration. This establishes a fresh session and re-syncs recent conversations. If
messages still don't appear afterwards, reach out to support.
