# Microsoft

> Sync Outlook email and calendar with Spott so all candidate communication lives in one place.

Connect your Microsoft account to sync **email and calendar** with Spott
automatically. It is the foundation for the [Inbox](/docs/inbox/inbox),
[Calendar](/docs/calendar/schedule-a-meeting), and the
[Note Taker](/docs/notes/note-taker).

## Connect

Go to **Settings → Accounts** and connect your Microsoft account. Sign in and approve
the requested permissions. Your email and meetings then sync into Spott and link to
the right candidates and contacts.

<Note>
  This is a personal connection: each user connects their own Microsoft account.
</Note>

## Working in a managed organization

In many Microsoft 365 organizations, users cannot approve app permissions themselves:
an IT admin needs to grant consent for Spott first (in Microsoft Entra ID). If the
connection screen asks for admin approval or shows a permissions error, that is what is
happening. Have your IT admin pre-approve Spott for the organization; after that, every
team member connects in one click.

## Good to know

* **One address per user.** Each Spott user connects one email address. The same address
  cannot be connected twice, and it cannot be connected through both Google and
  Microsoft at the same time.
* **Teams meeting links** are available when scheduling from a connected Microsoft
  calendar. If your team uses Google for email but Teams for interviews, the Microsoft
  connection needs its own (different) email address.
* If connecting shows that the address is **already synced to another account**, the
  address is linked to a different Spott account. Reach out to support and we'll sort it
  out.
