# What updates the Last Interaction field on a candidate's details page?

> How Spott keeps track of the most recent touchpoint with each candidate.

The **Last Interaction** field on a candidate's details panel tracks the most recent
real touchpoint with the candidate, together with **Last Interaction With**, which
shows the teammate who had that touchpoint.

Last Interaction is updated by two-way touchpoints:

* **Emails**: emails sent to or received from the candidate through a connected mailbox
* **LinkedIn messages**: messages exchanged with the candidate through a connected
  LinkedIn account
* **Phone calls**: logged and received calls through a connected calling (VoIP) integration
* **Calendar meetings**: meetings with the candidate from a connected calendar

These update the timestamp regardless of which team member in your organization had
the touchpoint, as long as their accounts are synced with Spott. Adding a note or
completing a task does **not** move Last Interaction.

<Note>
  Spott also tracks a broader **Last Activity Date**, which reflects recent activity
  on the record. You can filter and sort on both fields in the Candidates view.
</Note>

This helps you keep track of the most recent contact with each candidate across
channels and team members, and quickly find candidates who have not been touched in
a while.
